Netflix's XO, Kitty continues the story of Kitty Song-Covey, bringing together an impressive cast of up-and-coming actors, led by Anna Cathcart. After helping build her sister Lara Jean's relationship with Peter Kavinsky in the To All The Boys movies, Kitty Song-Covey embarks on a journey of self-discovery and romance at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) in XO, Kitty. The unapologetically young adult rom-com might be packed with clichés and tropes, but it’s still remarkably fun to watch, thanks to the lovable cast.
While Anna Cathcart’s Kitty Song-Covey is the main character of the show, the Netflix rom-com frequently feels like an ensemble show. By the end of XO, Kitty season 1 where Kitty’s classmates and teachers are just as important. Rather than flattening them down, the writers make the rest of the main and supporting cast three-dimensional. Interestingly, most of the XO, Kitty actors are up-and-coming, with few roles under their belts.
