How do I update my Naviextras map? ›

If you are entitled to a free update, it will appear in Naviextras Toolbox under “Updates”. You simply need to click “Install”… and it will be installed onto your device. If you are entitled to free updates for a year, 3 years or more, make sure to return to Naviextras Toolbox regularly for the latest ones available.

You can register a new account by clicking on Log in or register at the top of the Naviextras.com website. You will be asked to provide your name, e-mail address, a unique username and password, as well as your country of residence, for invoicing purposes. You will also be asked to choose a device.

But things do change slowly over time. Roads get rerouted or changed for safety, streets get renamed, bridges get replaced, traffic patterns are modified. So, if you use the navigation system often, and drive a lot in unfamiliar places, then it's probably worth updating every four or five years.

Toolbox is a free, easy-to-use application that allows you to download and install available map updates on your Mazda Connect navigation system.

Open the Map Update Tool application on your computer, and insert your USB stick. Choose “Map Updates” and select “Update Map” next to each map that you want to update. You will be able to update and download multiple maps at the same time.

Once a user ID has been created, select the BACKUP tab from the left-hand navigation menu to create a complete backup of the data on the SD card. Once the SD card backup is complete, select the UPDATE tab from the left-hand navigation menu to search for free map updates.

Please make sure that your SD-card has been once run in your navigation device; this is necessary for Naviextras Toolbox to recognize it. Additionally, on the SD card, there is sometimes a little switch that you can move. Is there one? Make sure the SD card is not set to the locked position.

Click on one of your maps within your vendor site to bring up its Edit Product page. On the right side bar, click on Update this map under the Actions menu.

How do I update my little Navmap? ›

Select Help -> Check for Updates in the main menu to search manually for new versions. Note that the daily or weekly check is only done when starting the program.
